Itinerario de Río Grey + Río Serrano

Day 1

We leave town in the morning with our car headed to the Grey Lake sector, at Torres del Paine national park (if you are somewhere in the park we can pick you up there).
At the Playa Grey bank, we will start the instruction to have a conformable and safe navigation. We begin the excursion from Grey Lake mouth where it´s possible to paddle alongside stunning icebergs that are blown by the wind right after they separate from the glacier. We have Macizo Paine and the west mountain range as landscape, highlighting also the famous Cuernos del Paine.
After enjoying the lake navigation and master your kayak, we will start to go down through the Grey River. From now on it´s going to be an adventure passing through rapids and cannons from start until finish, followed by numerous turns overlooking Sierra del Toro. We will have a break close to Grey Bridge where we will enjoy a great lunch, we will continue paddling until we find the confluence with Serrano River, the place where the grey waters full of sediments merge with the clear waters coming from Lago del Toro.
The day ends at Pueblito Serrano after 3-4hrs paddling. Here we will have dinner and sleep in comfortable Domos in the middle of Patagonian nature.

Day 2

The adventure begins. We will paddle to Salto del Rio (an amazing water fall) where a short walk and portaging (carrying) the kayaks will allow us to avoid the waterfall. The navigation continues along the mighty river on our way to the Serrano Glacier. The viewpoints from Tyndall Glacier and Geike mountains give us the sign that we navigate close to the Southern Ice Field. Here we will have a break to replenish ourselves and enjoy our lunch with a spectacular view. After we will slowly get closer to Monte Balmaceda until we meet with Ultima Esperanza fjord waters. At these same waters, Juan Ladrilleros was intensely searching for some exit to the Atlantic sea (circa 1558). From this point, we have a privileged view from the Serrano Glacier.
We will camp at Puerto Toro for the night, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner with Patagonian wild nature as landscape.

*Please have in mind that from the beginning to the end of the kayak trip the itinerary may have to be modified owing, of course, to the famous Patagonian wind.

Day 3

Early in the morning right after our breakfast we will portage (carry) our kayaks about 30m to Serrano Lagoon (where the Glacier ends). We will paddle alongside with the blue icebergs that break off the huge glacier and we will be back at midday to take a bigger boat that will take us back to Puerto Natales through Ultima Esperanza fjord that in its journey has an amazing view to Balmaceda Glacier. We will stop at Estancia Perales to have a delicious and traditional roasted lamb. At 18.00hrs we are arrive to Puerto Natales.

Grey River + Serrano River - 3 days

A combination of two adventures: the navigation of Grey River and Serrano River. The adventure includes icebergs, camping, paddling down a river, glaciers and finishing with a traditional Magallanes roasted lamb.
