Itinerary
We leave town in the early morning with our car headed to the Grey Lake sector through Y-290 route. After 2hrs we arrive at the excursion starting spot. Here we will provide you the necesary equipment to start the excursion.
At the Playa Grey bank the guide will give you an instruction talk to have a confortable and safe navigation. We began the excursion from Grey Lake mouth where it´s possible to paddle alongside stunning icebergs that are blown by the wind right after they separate from the glacier. We have Macizo Paine and the west mountain range as landscape, highlighting also the famous Cuernos del Paine.
After enjoying the lake navigation and mastered the kayak we will start to go down through the Grey River in a 3hrs paddling adventure, passing through a cannon and a rapid, followed by numerous turns overlooking Sierra del Toro. We will have a break close to Grey Bridge where we will enjoy a great box lunch. Following we will continue paddling until we find the confluence with Serrano River, the place where the grey waters full of sediments merge together with the clear waters coming from Lago del Toro. We finish our adventure at Pueblo Serrano where we pick up a transfer back to Puerto Natales.
Important: please bear in mind that from the beginning to the end of the kayak trip the itinerary may have to be modified owing, of course, to the famous Patagonian wind.
If the wind is too strong, it will not be possible to enter to the iceberg zone. If this is the case, we will only paddle the whole Grey River (which is sheltered from wind).
